Tranter International AB exhibited its Econocoil plate heat exchanger units at ACHEMA 2006. The light duty unit is designed to handle a wide range of heating and cooling applications while being one of the most economically priced heat exchanger products on the market. Capable of handling 24 bar as the maximum operating pressure in the 2mm stainless steel version, the Econocoil unit is available in a variety of materials, including titanium, and in widths from 300 to 1200mm.

There are five designs offered as standard for different applications and optional fitting locations offering infinite possibilities for custom designs in the size and shape required.

Manufactured through a hydraulic forming technique the plates are double embossed, can be custom-designed in a variety of shapes and can be arranged in banks for applications requiring large heat transfer surface areas.

Moreover because virtually the entire heat transfer surface of the units provides contact, they offer high heat transfer rates and provide accurate and consistent heating or cooling.

Econocoil units can be used with steam or liquids for heat transfer applications in chemical, metalworking, paper and textile plants, as well as many other manufacturing operations.
