The Cuddon range of general purpose freeze dryers is a high quality, favourably priced range, now fully supported in the UK and Ireland by Biopharma Process Systems. With condenser ice capacities from 5.5 kg to 1500kg, and flexibility in design, Cuddon dryers are suitable for a wide range of uses including food processing, nutraceuticals, document drying and continuous belt dryer applications. The popular FD80 model offers 9m2 of shelf area in a footprint of just 2.3m x 1.1m and has a condenser capacity of 80Kg.

Control system features include data logging, recipe storage, graphing and alarms: up to fifteen recipes can be stored at any one time for different products, each with up to fifteen freeze-drying steps.

The system also features a vacuum/temperature control that regulates the heating energy to maintain a safe vacuum pressure while maximising the efficiency of the system.

Some models also feature a 'tilt' option, which allows tilting of the shelving module to enhance the draining of wash-down water when a CIP or clean down has been completed.

Freeze drying is widely regarded as the preferred industrial method for drying and preserving.

When compared to other drying methods freeze drying offers low temperature processing, reducing the damage done to the product.

Products retain original size, shape, colour, aroma and nutrient value, but can be reconstituted almost immediately.
