Flow Sensor works in fluids with particulates
Suited for conductive fluid applications that contain particles, solids, and fibers, Signet 2551 Magmeter has no moving parts and can connect to other instrumentation via frequency or digital (S3L) signal output or 4-20 mA output option. Insertion style electro-magnetic flow sensor features stainless steel electrodes, PVDF or PP body, and 2-wire system design. Mounted into 0.5-0.8 in. pipes, unit has 0.15-33 fps flow range with repeatability of [+ or -]0.5% of reading.
TUSTIN,Calif. - Jan. 17, 2005 - George Fischer, Inc. has introduced the Signet 2551 Magmeter, an insertion style electro-magnetic flow sensor especially intended for conductive fluid applications that contain particles, solids and fibers. Uniquely designed with no moving parts to wear or foul, this new flow sensor virtually eliminates maintenance and its associated costs. Typical applications include flow monitoring in a wide range of industries such as water and waste treatment, municipal drinking water, public pools and spas, aquariums, scrubbers, cooling towers, plating, beverage manufacturing and power plants. The 2551 insertion magmeter provides all the user benefits associated with magnetic flow sensors - no moving parts, high accuracy, and wide dynamic range - without the high costs associated with full line units. It's ideal as a replacement for paddlewheel sensors in dirty applications and fits into the same fittings as a retrofit. The new Magmeter alleviates clogged rotors and decreases downtime.
The 2551 Magmeter offers a variety of signal output options for maximum user flexibility. Customers can connect to other Signet instrumentation via a frequency or digital (S3L) signal output. Or, the 2551 can be connected directly to PLCs and other equipment using the 4 to 20mA output option. K-factor values are available for all standard pipe sizes to facilitate easy calibration.
Body material choices include PVDF (polyvinylidene) or PP (polypropylene) to provide corrosion resistance in a very wide range of fluids. All units feature stainless steel electrodes and can be quickly mounted into pipe sizes ranging from 0.5 to 0.8 inches (DN15 to DN200) using standard Signet installation fittings to ensure proper insertion depth. Outstanding performance characteristics include a dynamic flow range of 0.15 to 33 ft/s (0.05 to 10 m/s) with repeatability of [+ or -]0.5% of reading, even in extremely dirty fluids. Superior linearity of [+ or -]1% reading provides excellent performance in harsh environments. Additional features include a 2-wire system design that reduces installation costs and an integral stainless steel grounding ring to assure accurate measurement even in electrically noisy environments. Maximum quality is assured by complete factory testing and a test certificate is supplied with each sensor.
